For TRON holdings, DApp access or signing with a separate device, TronLink provides a self-custody wallet. Its browser extension also supports Ethereum, BSC and BTTC, while Ledger connections differ between the extension and mobile app.

Network and application fit

TronLink provides access to TRON DApps through its mobile app and browser extension. Its Web3 browser covers DeFi, social media and gaming applications, with favorites for repeat access.

Ledger use across interfaces

The mobile setup uses Bluetooth pairing with Ledger Nano X and requires TronLink App v4.20.0 or above. The extension uses USB on a computer and separates TRON from EVM during account import.

During import, keep the TRON app open on Ledger for TRON accounts. Ethereum, BSC and BTTC require Ledger's Ethereum app in the extension's import flow.

When the extension reports Partially Imported, it retains imported accounts and offers Continue Import for the remainder. Account import makes selected addresses available in the interface without signing or submitting a transaction.

The mobile Ledger flow submits a transaction after the device signs it; submission alone does not establish on-chain completion.

The mobile Ledger workflow permits DAppChain account import without displaying balances or supporting Ledger signatures in that environment. It also excludes Ledger signing for transfers to or from DAppChain and shielded-token trading with Ledger accounts. Large transaction data can prevent signing.

Offline signing with two mobile devices

TronLink's cold-wallet mode separates transaction preparation from the device holding private keys. The online endpoint displays balances and prepares transactions; the offline device supplies signatures through QR-code exchange.

Transfers, TRX staking and unstaking, voting and multisignature transactions fit this arrangement. A transfer prepared at the online endpoint still needs the paired offline device's signature.

Keep the cold device offline permanently once it contains wallets and back up its recovery material securely. TronLink does not let either device switch its selected hot or cold mode.

Using an existing wallet

TronLink App v4.20.0 and above accepts a mnemonic, private key or Keystore through Import Wallet. A Keystore import also requires the password protecting the encrypted file; Ledger accounts use the separate pairing flow.

TronLink does not keep your recovery material on your behalf; a wallet password alone cannot import an account.

Decision checklist

  • For Ethereum, BSC or BTTC accounts, choose the extension's multichain support.
  • For mobile Ledger use, confirm Nano X Bluetooth compatibility and TronLink App v4.20.0 or above.
  • For Ledger use on a computer, use the extension's USB flow and open the app matching the chosen network.
  • For offline signing, use two secure mobile devices with no rooting history and disconnect the signing device before setting up cold wallets. Keep it offline permanently afterward.

Questions and answers about Tronlinkwallet

Can TronLink Extension hide balances during TRON Ledger account selection?

Yes. For TRON accounts, the Ledger import list and its exports omit balances when Batch Account Balance Requests is off or Basic Functionality is on. Those conditions also hide the With TRX and With USDT filters. Both settings are under Security & Privacy in TronLink Extension.
